Manchester has been named the most popular location for first-time buyers, in a Lloyds report analysing all areas outside the capital, with the proportion of first time buyers purchasing in the city growing by 3% since 2024.
Lloyds cited Manchester’s strong job opportunities, major regeneration projects and a well‑connected transport network as key factors attracting younger buyers, with growth in the technology, finance, and media sectors in particular fuelling new job opportunities in the city’s growing economy.
